We run 4 retreats a year from the Yorkshire Centre for Wellbeing
We offer residential and non-residential options. Residential options include single rooms or shared rooms. The living accommodation is part of the Chris and Anne-Maries family home where the centre is based-a large spacious property with beautiful gardens on Duchy Rd – considered one of the most prestigous roads in Harrogate and only a few minutes walk from the famous Valley Gardens
But if you prefer non- residential there are plenty of other options based in Harrogate close to the Centre.
We encourage you to see this as an opportunity to rest, restore and heal the body and mind in a nurturing and safe environment. To make the most of your experience, we recommend minimising or abstaining from caffeine and alcohol, and trying out some cleansing practices such as neti and self-massage.
The full program of meditation, yoga, and other Ayurvedic healing lifestyle practices is carefully designed to optimize the benefits of a healthy diet and bring you closer to inner calm and peace. In your free time, you may feel like resting, reflecting, and learning, or, if you are feeling energetic, exploring the lovely town of Harrogate and its surroundings.
The menu includes a rich, nutritious breakfast and a home-cooked, nourishing evening meal, food is Ayurvedic designed to balance your doshas ( This is explained on our Ayurvedic retreats) Healthy snacks, fruit, and refreshments are on offer throughout the day.

This retreat is a a wonderful opportunity to explore the chakras in more depth and its the only chakra retreat we run in the year .
According to Yoga all trauma from the past which we are not able to process is stored in the body. The 7 Chakras (physically the 7 major junctions on the central nervous system) are the energy centres in the energetic body that store and organise bio-energy and information for specific areas of the body allowing effective healthy functioning.
If one has experienced early trauma the chakra will be blocked partially effecting the functioning of that area of the body leading to emotional and health issues. In this retreat James and Sam will teach you about the different chakras, the psycho-emotional components relating to each chakra and how we can start to clear and heal the charka using yoga and other methods. Its a powerful in depth retreat providing a template for personal healing and transformation.
Tantra Chakra Yoga Weekend Retreat Outline Programme
This retreat will include philosophical theory and practical tools in Tantra and yoga which will provide the groundwork for powerful transformative practices and healing through the Chakras. James teaches a style of Yoga which uses asanas (postures) to activate the chakras to bring the microcosmic energies of the body into coherence with the universal macrocosmic energies. It is a powerful form of yoga, which works in ascending order through the chakras, leading to higher states of consciousness. Below are lectures that you will get:

Tantra is one of the most ancient spiritual pathways of India from which yoga was born. ‘Tantra’ means ‘warp’ or ‘extension’ and refers to the infinite energy of divine consciousness which permeates all of life. Tantra recognizes the human body as a microcosmic replica of the macrocosm. Through practices such as yoga and activation of the chakra centers, the latent energies of the body are liberated. As these energies are freed, an expansion of consciousness occurs as one progressively moves towards mergence with Shiva, universal consciousness.
