If you want to give yourself a complete break from the stresses of modern day living. The Yorkshire Centre for Wellbeing & Harrogate Yoga Retreats offer a range of retreats, both at our family run  Harrogate centre and home and at other retreat centres abroad.

Since 2011 we have also taught on retreat in Gozo, Sri Lanka, Bali, France, Greece, Malaysia, Cyprus and the Maldives, all of the more recent non UK retreats coming by invitation including 9 times at Ahimsa Garden Retreats, Kerala India. Fore more information about our India retreats click here

We give all Wellbeing package subscription students a £50 discount on our retreats.

Ayurveda Yoga Retreat – Kerala, India | November 27 – December 5 2025 | From £1450

Join us for a transformative 9-day Ayurvedic yoga retreat in the serene surroundings of Ahimsa Garden Retreats, a private sanctuary in Kerala, South India. Ayurvedic Yoga May Bank Holiday Retreat

Our first Ayurveda Yoga retreat of 2025 is for the May Bank holiday. May is a beautiful time of year to enjoy Harrogate; famed for its Valley Gardens Park amongst many other attractions, winning Town in bloom on multiple occasions. Join us for this Yoga Ayurveda retreat. Ayurveda is the ancient system of Indian healing and means the “science or wisdom of life”.

It is the original Functional medicine as it includes many topics, health, diet, herbs, massage, body therapies, oils, food classification, body types. Ayurveda places great emphasis on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one’s life.

Knowledge of Ayurveda enables one to understand how to create this balance of body, mind and how to make lifestyle changes to bring about and maintain this balance. The retreat gives us the opportunity to explore Ayurveda and Yoga in more depth and also enjoy the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and surroundings. Daily schedule includes Meditation, Yoga and seminars/workshops on Ayurveda.

The summer bank holiday retreat is the longest retreat that we run in the year. We invite you to join us as we transition into a New Year during this 3-day retreat provides a wonderful opportunity to explore Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation in more depth and enjoy a healthy and contemplative start to the new year as we set our intentions for the coming year

Please note we usually have a waiting list for this retreat so please book in good time.

Our Harrogate Retreat Centre

During the retreats you will also have time to enjoy the spa town of Harrogate and the beautiful surrounding Yorkshire Dales. The retreats typically run from Friday 4pm to Sunday after lunch with exception to the August bank holiday retreat which runs for an extra day and finishes on the Monday.

We offer residential and non-residential options. Residential options include single rooms or shared rooms. The living accommodation is part of the Chris and Anne-Maries family home where the Centre is based. But if you prefer non- residential there are plenty of other options based in Harrogate close to the Centre.

We encourage you to see this as an opportunity to rest, restore and heal the body and mind in a nurturing and safe environment. To make the most of your experience, we recommend minimising or abstaining from caffeine and alcohol, and trying out some cleansing practices such as neti and self-massage.

The full program of meditation, yoga, and other Ayurvedic healing lifestyle practices is carefully designed to optimize the benefits of a healthy diet and bring you closer to inner calm and peace. In your free time, you may feel like resting, reflecting, and learning, or, if you are feeling energetic, exploring the lovely town of Harrogate and its surroundings.

The menu includes a rich, nutritious breakfast and a home-cooked, nourishing evening meal, food is Ayurvedic designed to balance your doshas ( This is explained in our Ayurvedic seminars) Healthy snacks, fruit, and refreshments are on offer throughout the day.

Each year we now receive numerous invitations to run other retreats in other non UK destinations
However, we feel the experience at Ahimsa Gardens is so outstanding and is the most beneficial on all levels, so that we now make this a yearly or twice yearly retreat. Next retreat February 23-March 1 from £1350 are limited please contact us for more details

As an UK Ayurvedic centre it is not possible for us to provide full Panchakarma, but with our partnership with Ahimsa we can now offer a complete authentic Ayurvedic experience. With the additional, wonderful benefit of the help and advice of Dr. Daisy Kuchinad ( an integrative doctor and owner of Ahimsa) and her handpicked team of two Ayurvedic doctors and their therapists
