Yoga Retreat in India

February 17 – 25 2025 from £1450

Each year we now receive numerous invitations to run other retreats in other non UK destinations
However, we feel the experience at Ahimsa Gardens is so outstanding and is the most beneficial on all levels, so that we now make this a yearly retreat.

Ahimsa is an Ayurveda, Yoga and Kalaripayttu Retreat Centre in Kerala S. India.
It is a labour of love a beautifully crafted private home owned by Dr. Daisy Kuchinad that has became a sanctuary for over 400 species of medicinal plants.

Anne-Marie has now taken groups to Ahimsa 11 times with many students returning several times

The retreat consists of ;-
*An Ayurvedic consultation with Allopathic doctor Dr Daisy Kuchinad and our 2 Ayurvedic doctors Dr.Nair, and his son Hari.
Dr Nair was recommended to Dr.Kuchinad when a close family member needed Panchakarma( an intensive Ayurvedic cleanse) after a serious illness.
Dr Nair has learnt Ayurveda through lineage, while his son Hari has attended Ayurvedic universities and hospitals to learn Ayurveda.
They have their own Ayurvedic clinic and hospital – Anjaneya which we see along with the Kalaripait demonstration.

* A bespoke Ayurvedic programme with daily treatments

*Daily yoga and meditation

* A sunset cruise on the Keralan backwaters with local musicians

* Kalarapait demonstration- the ancient martial art of India . Dr Nair is also the head of the Kalaripait school.

* A guided walk and explanation of the healing plants in the gardens

* Dr Kuchiands help, guidance throughout the retreat

* delicious organic 3 meals a day plus drinks and snacks all freshly cooked on site with many of the products coming from the gardens

*opportunity for local visits and other cultural experiences

*On request yoga sessions with Suresh- a yoga master of more than 40 years experience who teaches and conducts research at a yoga institute in S. India – *extra charge

You can arrive earlier or stay on at Ahimsa if you wish, if you have more chronic health issues a longer stay is recommended.

Or you can visit other areas of Kerala first .
Last year some of us arrived early and went to the beach Anne-Marie will be doing this again in 2025 , there is also a national park near by if you would like to see more wildlife.

Cost depending on rooms and whether shared or single occupancy from £1450 plus flights to Kochi

At the moment flight prices are reasonable but they will go up the nearer we are to going, so its best to book early
